Private jet charter to Doha

Qatar's capital, one airport, and a season that runs to March.

Doha is a working Gulf capital with exactly one civil airport, one dedicated private-aviation FBO, and a 72-hour landing-permit clock that runs on its own schedule rather than its neighbours'. The city's own calendar — business conferences in winter, the Formula 1 weekend in late November, tennis through February — sits inside the wider Gulf's November-to-March peak, and it is the calendar, not the runway, that decides whether a date is easy.

How much does a private jet to Doha cost?

A private charter to Doha starts from around €7,500, depending on your departure point, the aircraft and the season.

What it costs to fly to Doha

Indicatively, from about €7,500 one way from Dubai — the only corridor on this page, and the one figure here that needs an honest caveat. There is no published market anchor for Dubai–Doha the way there is for most of our other Gulf routes: LunaJets has no Doha page to read a rate from, so this number is derived rather than quoted, scaled from the two shortest Gulf legs we do have data for and nudged down rather than up, because an unobserved figure should sit conservative. What will move the real quote is the aircraft offered rather than the 380 km distance, which asks nothing of any jet. The charter fleet based around the Gulf skews toward larger cabins than a 55-minute hop needs, so the number you are quoted often reflects what is on the ramp rather than what the sector demands. Every trip is still quoted individually.

Which airport a private arrival uses

There is one address. Hamad International (DOH) has been Qatar's only civil airport since it opened in 2014, absorbing the commercial traffic the old Doha International airport used to carry. That older field still exists, but only for Qatar Amiri Flight's state and VVIP operations — a charter client never sees it. Hamad sits about 15 km south of the centre, roughly 20 minutes by road in ordinary traffic. Unlike Riyadh or Dubai, there is no second civil field nearby to trade against: the decision at this end is the handler and the arrival hour, not the airport, which simplifies the planning in a way the other two Gulf cities on this site do not quite offer.

The business-aviation terminal, and the real time to a car

Private arrivals at Hamad are handled through one of two facilities: Qatar Executive's own FBO terminal, built for the airline's business-aviation arm, or Qatar Aviation Services' general-aviation handling — both working the same general-aviation apron, which the airport's own charts list at nine stands sized for business jets rather than for the airline fleet next door. Immigration and customs clear inside the FBO building rather than in the passenger terminal, which is the whole point of using it. Avily owns no aircraft and no terminal; the handler who meets you — Qatar Executive or Qatar Aviation Services, named on your confirmation before you travel — is the one actually running the ground side of the trip.

The weeks that set the price

Doha's calendar inside the Gulf's November-to-March season is specific and dated. The Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix runs 27 to 29 November 2026 at the Lusail circuit and fills the city's ramp space for the week around it. February is busier still: the WTA's Qatar Open runs 8 to 14 February 2026 and the ATP's Qatar ExxonMobil Open follows immediately, 16 to 21 February, both at the same Doha venue, while Web Summit Qatar opens the month, 1 to 4 February, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. Outside those weeks, Doha is not a seasonal destination the way Riyadh or Jeddah can be around Ramadan or the Hajj season — it is a business city with a dense winter calendar rather than a single defining peak, and that spreads the pressure across several separate weeks rather than one.

Slots, curfews and where the aircraft sleeps

Hamad runs around the clock — customs, immigration and ground handling are all published as 24-hour services — so there is no curfew to plan around, the same as Dubai's two airports. What differs is the coordination level: Qatar's own slot-coordination authority lists Hamad as a Level 2, schedule-facilitated airport, where operators advise the facilitator of planned movements rather than compete for allocated slots the way they do at Dubai International's Level 3. The practical constraint is the general-aviation apron itself: nine stands, not a large number against a calendar with several separate peak weeks. If the aircraft is not continuing on with you, it is more likely to reposition than to wait, particularly during the Grand Prix or the February tennis weeks, and that repositioning leg is part of the quote before you book.

Ground, luggage and animals

Two rules are worth knowing before you land, and neither is Saudi Arabia's. Alcohol import into Qatar is prohibited for personal travellers — there is no duty-free allowance on arrival, and what turns up undeclared is confiscated — so catering for the flight is a question settled with the operator before departure rather than aboard. Personal religious texts, a single Bible for your own use among them, are allowed; what is restricted is material intended for distribution or public display, which Qatari law treats as a separate and more serious matter. Pets need an import permit from the Department of Animal Resources at the Ministry of Municipality, obtainable up to two weeks ahead and valid for one month, plus a microchip, a current rabies vaccination and, for most origin countries, a rabies antibody titre test with a 90-day wait between the blood draw and arrival. Confirm the detail for your animal's departure country before you book, not after.

What the city is for

Doha runs on the same sovereign-wealth logic as Riyadh, built around a much smaller population and a longer head start: the Qatar Investment Authority and the LNG revenue behind it fund a business and diplomatic calendar that runs from autumn through spring, timed deliberately against a summer too hot for most of what the city does outdoors. West Bay's financial towers and the Qatar Economic Forum's delegations are one half of the traffic; the Formula 1 weekend, the February tennis double-header and the museums along the Corniche — the Museum of Islamic Art among them — are the other, pulling a different kind of visitor into the same short winter season. Clients flying into Doha are typically here for one half of that pair rather than both, and the aircraft and the ground arrangements follow whichever it is.

Frequently asked questions

Which airport serves Doha?
Hamad International (DOH), Qatar's only civil airport since 2014, about 15 km south of the city centre. Private arrivals use Qatar Executive's FBO terminal or Qatar Aviation Services' general-aviation handling, on a nine-stand apron away from the passenger building.
How much is a private jet to Doha?
Indicatively from about €7,500 one way from Dubai — the only corridor we publish for Doha, and a figure derived from comparable Gulf routes rather than read off a published market rate, since none exists yet for this pair. Every trip is quoted individually.
Do I need a slot or a permit to fly privately to Doha?
A permit. Qatar's civil aviation authority asks for non-scheduled flight applications at least 72 hours ahead, and a private flight additionally needs a signed, stamped letter from your Qatar-based receiving party stating the visit's purpose. Hamad itself is schedule-facilitated rather than fully slot-coordinated.
Can I bring alcohol or a pet into Qatar?
Alcohol, no — import for personal travellers is prohibited and undeclared bottles are confiscated on arrival. Pets need an import permit from the Ministry of Municipality's Department of Animal Resources, arranged up to two weeks ahead, plus a current rabies vaccination and, for most origins, an antibody titre test.
When is Doha busiest for private aviation?
Late November, for the Qatar Grand Prix (27–29 November 2026), and February, when the WTA and ATP's Qatar tournaments run back to back (8–21 February) alongside Web Summit Qatar at the start of the month. Outside those weeks, availability is easier.
