Private jet route
Private jet charter from Dubai to Doha
Dubai → Doha
DubaiPrices reviewed:
Fifty-five minutes north-west across the Gulf, between the peninsula's two largest business-aviation markets — and, unusually for a route this short, there is no land alternative at all. Qatar's only land border is with Saudi Arabia, so Dubai and Doha are joined by sea and by air and by nothing else. There is no LunaJets-published anchor for this pair, so the price below is modelled rather than quoted — said plainly, not dressed up as a market figure.

How long is the flight from Dubai to Doha?
About 55 minutes block time over roughly 380 km (235 nm) of open Gulf water — a flight so short that the climb and the descent take up more of it than the cruise does. There is, unusually, no realistic alternative by road. Qatar's only land frontier is with Saudi Arabia, so a surface trip from Dubai would mean roughly 1,100 km through two international borders rather than the 380 km a jet flies direct — nobody does this for a business trip, and it is less a comparison than an illustration of how isolated the two cities are from each other except by air. The commercial shuttle between them is dense — several airlines fly it multiple times a day — but a scheduled seat still carries the two airports' own processing time at each end, Hamad's included, which is exactly what a private departure buys back. A same-day double meeting, Doha in the morning and Dubai by evening, fits inside a single crew day with room to spare.
Which airports serve Dubai to Doha?
Dubai still gives you the choice this site's other Gulf pairs make elsewhere: Al Maktoum (DWC), where the Gulf's business-aviation fleet is actually based, against Dubai International (DXB), ten kilometres from downtown but sharing slots with airline traffic. Doha offers no equivalent choice. Hamad International (DOH) has been Qatar's only civil airport since it opened in 2014 and absorbed Doha International's commercial traffic; the old airport survives only for Qatar Amiri Flight's state and VVIP operations, which a charter client never sees. A private arrival at Hamad is handled through Qatar Executive's own FBO terminal or through Qatar Aviation Services, the airport's general ground handler for executive and private traffic — both work the general-aviation apron, nine parking stands sized for business jets rather than airliners. That apron, not the passenger terminal, is where the car meets you. Immigration and customs clear inside the FBO building, the same pattern Dubai and Riyadh both use.
How much does a private jet from Dubai to Doha cost, and what moves it?
From about €7,500 one way — and we say plainly that this figure is derived rather than quoted. LunaJets, whose published "from" tables we use as the market anchor for every other Gulf corridor on this site, has no Doha page at all, so there is nothing observed to read off. The number here is scaled from the two shortest Gulf anchors we do have — Athens to Mykonos at 35 minutes for about €6,400, and Riyadh to Jeddah at 1h 45m for about €14,300 — interpolated for this leg's roughly 55-minute flight time, then nudged down 3% rather than up, because a figure nobody has tested should sit conservative. Both directions carry the same number: with no directional market evidence either way, we are not going to invent an asymmetry to look more precise than the input data is. What will move the real quote is the aircraft offered rather than the distance flown. 380 km asks nothing of any jet in our fleet, so the number that actually changes is cabin size — and the Gulf-based fleet skews toward larger cabins than this hop needs, the same pattern we publish for Riyadh–Dubai.
Empty legs between Dubai and Doha
The honest answer is that we do not yet have the data to say either way, and we would rather say that than imply a discount that may not appear. Empty legs are a density effect: they show up on corridors where many aircraft fly the same short hop often enough that positioning flights become routine — exactly why they are common on Riyadh–Dubai and essentially absent on Dubai–Larnaca. Dubai and Doha are each major business-aviation markets in their own right, which makes this corridor a plausible candidate for the same pattern over time — but plausible is not observed, and this is a route with no published market history behind it at all. Treat it, for now, as a standard charter booked on its own dates rather than something to wait on. If your dates have a window rather than a fixed hour, say so at the enquiry — that costs nothing and occasionally catches something we cannot otherwise promise.
Which aircraft actually fly Dubai to Doha
55 minutes and 380 km ask nothing of range — a Phenom 300 at 3,650 km or a Citation XLS+ at 3,400 km covers this sector more than eight times over, even full. The choice is cabin and luggage, not distance: four to six people with cases fly it comfortably in either super-light jet, and a Challenger 350 is the answer when the group runs to eight or nine, or when the trip continues somewhere that does ask something of range. What you are actually offered skews larger than the sector needs, for the same reason it does on every other Gulf pair on this site: the charter fleet based around Dubai and Doha is weighted toward super-midsize and heavy cabins, because that is what the region's longer corridors — into Europe, into Asia — are built to fly. A 380 km hop on that fleet is a formality for the aircraft, and the reason the entry price here sits above a European leg of the same length.
The permit, and the letter Doha asks for
Qatar runs its own clock, and it is not Dubai's. The UAE requires a landing permit filed at least two clear working days ahead, naming the airport. Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority asks for non-scheduled flight applications to be submitted at least 72 hours — three days — before departure, under its published AIP procedure, and a private flight application additionally needs a letter from the party receiving you in Qatar: signed, stamped, on letterhead, stating the purpose of the visit. That is a different mechanism from Saudi Arabia's named-handler-and-sponsor requirement and from the UAE's airport-named permit — three Gulf states, three separate processes, and none of them interchangeable. Ground handling itself can usually be arranged faster than the permit — Qatar Aviation Services and Qatar Executive both work short notice for a confirmed slot — but the binding constraint on this leg is the paperwork, not the ramp. We file it as soon as dates are fixed rather than wait for the week before.
Typical aircraft
| Aircraft | Passengers | Range | Cruise speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Embraer Phenom 300 | 8 | 3,650 km | ≈ 840 km/h |
| Cessna Citation XLS+ | 8 | 3,400 km | ≈ 815 km/h |
| Bombardier Challenger 350 | 9 | 5,900 km | ≈ 850 km/h |
Estimated one-way charter for the whole aircraft. The exact price depends on the aircraft and date, and is always quoted on request.
Frequently asked questions
- How long is a private flight from Dubai to Doha?
- About 55 minutes block time over roughly 380 km — one of the shortest international legs in the Gulf. There is no realistic road alternative: Qatar's only land border is with Saudi Arabia, so a surface route would run about 1,100 km through two frontiers rather than the direct flight.
- How much does a private jet from Dubai to Doha cost?
- From about €7,500 one way, the same in both directions. The figure is derived rather than quoted — there is no published market anchor for this pair yet, so we scaled it from the two shortest Gulf routes we do have data for and rounded it down rather than up. Every trip is still quoted individually.
- Are there empty legs between Dubai and Doha?
- We cannot say yet. Empty legs follow density, and this corridor has no published history to read a pattern from, unlike Riyadh–Dubai. Treat it as a standard charter for now; ask with a flexible date window and we will flag anything that turns up.
- Do I need a visa to fly from Dubai to Doha?
- Not if you hold a GCC passport — citizens of the UAE and the other Gulf states enter Qatar without a visa. Qatar also waives visas for roughly 80 nationalities for stays up to 90 days and offers visa-on-arrival to about 47 more for 30 days. Outside those lists, arrange a visa before you fly.
- Which airport does a private jet use in Doha?
- Hamad International (DOH), Qatar's only civil airport since 2014. Private arrivals use Qatar Executive's FBO terminal or Qatar Aviation Services' general-aviation handling, on a nine-stand apron well away from the passenger terminal.
- How far ahead should I book a flight to Doha?
- The paperwork sets the floor, not the aircraft. Qatar's civil aviation authority asks for non-scheduled flight applications at least 72 hours ahead, and a private flight additionally needs a signed, stamped letter from your receiving party in Qatar stating the purpose of the trip. File as soon as dates are fixed.
