When is the best time to fly to Ibiza?
The season runs from late May to September and peaks in July and August, when demand and prices are at their highest and airport slots are tight. June and September offer warm weather with more availability and better value. Weekends are the busiest — midweek is easier for both slots and villas.
Getting to Ibiza and around
Ibiza has one airport (IBZ), close to the town, and private terminals handle the summer surge. From there it is a short transfer to the villas of the west coast, the town and the beach clubs — or a quick hop to Formentera by boat or helicopter, which your advisor can arrange.

The terminal a private arrival uses
Ibiza has one airport, 7 km from the town, and private flights are handled at the general-aviation terminal — the old bloque técnico, on its own apron away from the passenger building, where Jetex, ExecuJet and the local agents work. Handling through one of them is mandatory; you cannot land and simply walk out. In practice the car comes to the aircraft, and a Schengen arrival from Geneva or Barcelona is about five minutes from wheels-down to moving. From London, add passport control. What actually delays a summer arrival is not the terminal but the ramp: on a July Friday the aircraft can sit holding while the stand it was given finishes clearing.
What the season does to the number
The high season is short — the opening weekends at the end of May, the July and August peak, the closing parties that run into the first days of October. Inside it the price moves on things that have nothing to do with distance. Geneva starts from around €9,500 and London from around €12,400, and a peak Friday can sit well above both, because the aircraft that brings you in has to go somewhere afterwards and come back for you. Book the aircraft six to eight weeks out for a peak weekend. Parking cannot be booked that early: Ibiza does not confirm a stand until roughly fifteen days before the date, so the aircraft is committed before the ground plan is.
Slots, parking and the leg you pay for twice
Every arrival and departure at Ibiza needs a slot from the Spanish coordinator, and in summer an aircraft with a wingspan over 18 m needs a PPR to stay on the ground longer than three hours. Overnight parking in July and August is routinely refused. The consequence is the one clients do not expect: the aircraft lands, unloads, and departs empty to Palma, Valencia or Barcelona, then returns for your flight home. Those two empty sectors are real flying hours and they are in the quote. There is no blanket night ban in season — the airport runs 24 hours through 31 October — but noise-abatement routings apply and Aena runs an active noise plan for the island. From 1 November the airport closes 23:00 to 06:30, which catches late-October trips that slip by a week.
Ground, luggage and animals
Transfers here are car and boat. The town is ten minutes from the ramp, the west-coast villas twenty to forty, and Formentera goes by water — the fast ferry from Ibiza town, or a tender that meets you at Marina Botafoch if there is a yacht at the other end. Helicopter is available and rarely wins over that distance once you count the transfers at each end. Luggage is limited by the hold and by payload, not by an allowance, and a full cabin plus a villa week's worth of bags is exactly where a light jet runs out. Send us the passenger count and the bags together rather than separately, or the quote will be wrong. Pets follow the EU rules: microchip, EU pet passport, valid rabies vaccination. Arriving from outside the EU, the animal has to clear at a designated travellers' point of entry, and Spain publishes which airports those are — we check Ibiza against the current list for your departure country rather than assume it.
